The author explains the sense of this issue in honour and in memory of Annarita Buttafuoco, followed by the general index of the review DWF 1975-2000, of which Annarita was one of the founding members and for many years the main animator. The review is an example of the way Annarita expressed her political passion and cultural engagement in the feminist issue both in its blooming season and beyond.
CAPOMAZZA Tilde (edited by), Unpublished and interrupted, pp. 6-42
The author introduces the transcription of a 1994 interview with Annarita Buttafuoco by several women of the research center "donnawomanfemme" (Tilde Capomazza, Gigliola Cultrera, Maria Rocchi). Annarita retraces her formative years, the origin of her passion for history, the most important scientifical and political problems she encountered in her reflections over time.
BAERI Emma, Ties and knots, pp. 43-56
The author traces Annarita Buttafuoco's personality, a knowledge originating in an intense friendship, as well as in political and scientific collaboration.
MONTANI Patrizia, A living scrupulosity, pp. 57-62
The author, who has been a pupil of Annarita Buttafuoco, remembers her human and pedagogical qualities, within a relationship which was always characterized by willingness to communicate but also by exacting scrupulosity.
MURARO Anna, Thrilling history, pp. 63-67
A young pupil tells of the sense of the encounter with this exceptional teacher, able to start students to the discovery of the true meaning of scrupulous and politically impassioned historical research.
GIBSON Mary, Women on the fringe, pp. 68-75
The American scholar, a colleague and friend of Annarita Buttafuoco's, explains the traits of Buttafuoco's main work, Le Mariuccine, to a foreign public. Through this analysis she highlights the peculiar novelty of her work and of her point of view on the history of the movement for emancipation, and more generally on contemporary history.
