Series "Impossible loves", 1986, n. 1, pp. 99-100

This short text evokes a special life relationship with a subject who is persistingly and irrevocably "other".

Profits and losses, 1986, n. 2, pp. 71-75

A private and public life itinerary marks the structure of a personal library. There is a meaning in the presence and the absence, in the preferences for and the outcasts of certain authors, that show up across time.

The author uses a subjective due to analyze the project peculiar to a collective way to emancipation as it has been experienced in a women association, the changes occurred along the way and the cultural attitude of this new generation which exalts sociability among women without repressing the intellectual and political characteristics of each one.

Debate [Trial: let's listen: two meetings on politics], 1992, n. 16, pp. 7-23

Two encounters took place in December 1991 and February 1992 in the review's headquarters. The debate occurred in two moments, of which an account is given here synthetically but, on the whole, accurately. Elena Gentili, Ida Dominijanni, Annamaria Crispino, Maria Luisa Boccia, Annalisa Biondi, Roberta Tatafiore, Alessandra Bocchetti, Paola Masi, Vania Chiurlotto, Paola Bono, Marina Pivetta, Tilde Capomazza, Mariella Gramaglia, Rosanna Marcodoppido, Luciana Viviani, Rosetta Stella took part in the debate.

The principal issues were: the relation between social change and the creation of a female symbolic, in the connection of political practice and political action; the importance of language and of the reached, possible, necessary levels of comunication; the problem of the collective subject's possible residual quality, with the reasons which may create it and the ways of avoiding it by once more extending confrontation within the feminist community and beyond.

Strange subjects, 1992, n. 16, pp. 39-44

The author reports on the panel presented at the congress "Women's culture and politics and the left in Italy between the 70s and the 80s", held in Rome on May 4-5 1992 and organized by the Women's study and research center of the Gramsci institute foundation, the proceedings of which are to be published.

The main traits of the women's association Unione Donne Italiane (Italian Women's Union) are sketched, and an interpretation of these traits is given. The story is told of the conflictual but politically fruitful encounter between UDI and neofeminist groups and of its consequences on UDI's further political stance and organization.

CHIURLOTTO Vania - BONO Paola, An end and a beginning, 1993, n. 17, pp. 2-8

The collective who has acted as editorial board since 1986 traces the story of the last year: of the political crisis and of the discussions - on the internal dynamics of the group and on its position in the context of women's politics - which have resulted in a new series of the journal. We have taken stock of our differences and analysed our conceptions of the journal: as a consequence, not all the members of the collective are staying on.

(edited by), Women like us, 1993, n. 17, pp. 42-67

En 1944, in Southern Lazio, thousands of women were raped by the Moroccan soldiers enlisted in the French army. Drawing upon a dissertation submitted at Rome university by Concetta Venditti, the documentation presented here - interviews, parliamentary proceedings, etc. - retraces the history of those months, as well as the women's post-war struggle to be officially acknowledged and indemnified as war victims.

Looking back on those events can help a collective attempt to elaborate a political response towards the different - but in some aspects similar - reality of mass rape in former Yugoslavia.

Exceeding subjects, 1994, n. 22-23, pp. 4-12

The author reflects on and interprets the new political situation in Italy. A situation where conservative and reactionaries forces govern the country, and where there has been an increase in the number of women in Parliament - on the whole, and especially in the rightwing. This latter feature seems to contradict the traditional (or traditionally assumed) link between the left and the women's movement; such a link must therefore be re-examined, also looking at the new forms it could take.

Listening Beijing, 1996, n. 29, pp. 21-25

The author reflects upon the Beijing Conference as a gendered event, focusing upon the political subjects who have created it and produced its sense. Beijing has taught us that all over the world there are now women who, no matter how terrible their situation, do not think of female freedom as separated from the transformation of reality. Female freedom does not come "after politics", economic, structural changes, not any more.

Each time as if it were the first time, 1997, n. 36, pp. 26-28

According to the author, the political practise of signifying relations between/among women is not fully productive without public political sites where these relations are read and interpreted with their "problems and results, failures included, and especially failures". Occasions are needed to elaborate and put into words what "is every time born when women meet in order to give their lives a meaning not dictated by the desire of others".

For Annarita Buttafuoco, 1999, n. 42-43, pp. 2-6

On the 26th of May, Annarita Buttafuoco, feminist historian and founder of "DWF", died in young age. She is remembered and mourned on behalf of the whole editorial board by those who shared the review's new project with her since 1985 and who still work in it: Annalisa Biondi, Paola Bono, Patrizia Cacioli, Vania Chiurlotto, Paola Masi.

Presentation, 2000, n. 48, pp. 2-5

The author explains the sense of this issue in honour and in memory of Annarita Buttafuoco, followed by the general index of the review DWF 1975-2000, of which Annarita was one of the founding members and for many years the main animator. The review is an example of the way Annarita expressed her political passion and cultural engagement in the feminist issue both in its blooming season and beyond.
